Newsletter May 2012 We are all trying to make our equipment last a little longer. When we do just a few simple things we can make it last longer. Make sure that the fan openings are kept clear of dust. You can use a vacuum to clean out the dust or a q-tip. Don't put equipment up next to your printers, as they need air circulation to run. If they aren't getting enough air they can overheat and cause problems. If the paper starts to jam and you haven't added any paper to the tray check the feed rollers to make sure they aren't covered with paper lint. You can use a damp cloth to clean them off but don't use alcohol as this will make the rubber hard and the rollers will wear out prematurely. Sometimes you can swap the roller from the tray with the one in the printer to get some more life out of them. Make sure the roller is securely on the shaft before you start printing. Use the yellow toner rag that comes with every new toner to clean out the paper link and toner from inside your printer. You can also wipe off the electrical contacts, they can get toner on them and cause printing defects. Becky: 651-776-3657/800-249-8576 . |
